You will be allowed to enter after start time as long as the Open Mic is still in session. Once the session is closed, you will not be able to enter and you've forfeited your $5 fee.
Because of the popularity of our Open Mics and the limited amount of spots we offer, we will introduce you without a lengthy introduction
ORDER OF PERFORMERS
The order of performers is strictly random unless you've let us know of any time restraints ahead of time, so please be prepared to perform at any given moment.
RESPECT PURPOSE OF OPEN MIC
We want to give you the best opportunity to do well and learn the craft. Just be ready, respect the art of stand up comedy, and a have a good time. So here are our expectations of the comedians performing on open mic night. We expect every performer to read and follow these guidelines. If any of these rules are not followed it will result in a period of suspension from our online Open Mic. If a performer has repeated or extreme problems it could result in a permanent suspension.
RESPECT YOUR TIME
You cannot go over 3 minutes. You will be notified at 2.5 minutes and you will be muted if you go over your allowed time. Your time begins from the moment the host has introduced you. You should have your set timed so that you don't need an alert. Take the extra 15-30 seconds to finish up your point, but don’t be that comic who goes too long. If we do not reach our Open Mic attendance limit and we have extra time, you will be allowed to do an additional 3 minute set only after all paid participants have done their 3 minutes.
Try new material and don’t feel like your set needs to be polished, no one is expecting a finished product. The purpose of an open mic is to try new things and see what works. Work on developing a tight, efficient, set that is consistently effective. Notes are totally fine.
RESPECT TO OTHERS
Be respectful to others by not interrupting, and be attentive when they are performing. All other participants will be muted during a performance and un-muted for the applause. Click on the MICROPHONE MUTE tab to MUTE your mic if your environment becomes noisy. If you are muted, and must say something, you can speak by pressing the space bar on your keyboard. To show approval of bits, click on the REACTIONS tab and show applause or thumbs up, to support members of the group during and after their performances.. After I started the show, I asked attendees.
You are required to wear a top. There's absolutely nothing wrong with dressing up and making a good impression. You never know who's watching.
AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, HATE & RACISM
The entire Open Mic event will be recorded and archived. The host has the right to boot off anyone who is disruptive or is aggressive and incites hate or racist remarks. Please avoid discussions of politics or religion.
